How’s that “Deal” with Iran Looking so Far?

So after all the media's praise and support of the Obama administration's "deal" with Iran, how is it looking? Well, thus far its proven to actually be far worse than even we had anticipated. Earlier this week the Iranian regime unveiled a new underground missile depot showing Emad precision-guided missiles in store that the Obama administration admitted can carry a nuclear warhead. Interesting timing with the effort to dismantle the sanctions against the regime, yes? This isn't the first time we've seen the Emad make the news. In fact, we had previously written about this weapon system in our October 11 piece titled, "More on that 'Wonderful' Iran Deal Pres. Obama Made w/Khameini." The big takeaway from our October 11 article is that the Emad has a maneuvering reentry vehicle that improves system accuracy, making it harder to defend against. The missile has a range of 1,700km (1,056 miles) and is accurate within 500m (or 1,640ft) of a target. The Emad can also carry a 1,653 lbs payload and is scheduled for deployment sometime next year.

As we've stated in previous articles, Iran's nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs involve a great deal of collaborative work with the DPRK. In "More on that 'Wonderful' Iran Deal Pres. Obama Made w/Khameini," we stated that the October test launch of the Emad missile was directly linked to the DPRK's KN-08 intercontinental ballistic missile as both represent the fruit of the two rogue regimes' collaborative efforts. We also said that a test launch of the KN-08 would likely occur sometime in the near future. We stand by that assessment, which has been strengthened by a recent article by The Daily Beast that says the following:
He said it remained possible that Pyongyang had developed a one-stage thermonuclear device capable of inflicting far more damage than an A-bomb, or they could simply “be bluffing” and attempting to pass off another A-bomb test as a breakthrough.
In any event, a simple fission detonation is also bad news, especially if North Korea used the opportunity to develop a miniaturized warhead. In April, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) chief Admiral William Gortney said North Korea could target America’s West Coast with its mobile KN-08 missile, which can carry a nuclear warhead. The KN-08 is a special threat because it can hide and shoot, which means it is hard to destroy on the ground. The KN-08 is a relatively small missile, which means the North needs to develop a light-weight warhead.
It appears a missile launch is coming soon. As Bruce Bechtol Jr., author of North Korea and Regional Security in the Kim Jong-un Era, has pointed out, North Korean nuke and missile tests come in pairs. “We have seen nuclear tests conducted within a very short time frame—either before or after—long-range ballistic missile tests,” he told The Daily Beast after today’s detonation.
Although we question the DPRK's ability to create an H-Bomb (although we could be wrong - it happens from time to time), the KN-08 is very real and so is the joint-program to advance Kim Jong Un and Ayatollah Khameini's nuclear strike ambitions. The reasons for this is simple - to circumvent sanctions against the two regimes and collaborate to overcome deficiencies in each other's research and development. Another reason is to chip away at American influence by offering under-the-table-deals with select countries (China, Russia) while courting Western companies based in countries such as Norway, France and Germany. (For more info check out "How The North Korean Regime Affects The Middle East," "Obama’s Legacy and the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Program," "The Persian Hustle: Iran Dupes Clueless US State Dept in Nuke Talks and Moves to Dominate the Middle East" and "Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program and the Failure of Obama’s“Hope and Change Foreign Policy”)
Adding insult to injury is the fact that Parliament speaker Ali Larijani - former IRGC commander and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council - was the guy who inaugurated the underground missile depot housing the Emads that was recently revealed. Why is this important? Because as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Larijani drew up the nuclear weapons and ballistic missile policies - the driving force of the regime's quest for a nuclear strike capability. Rather interesting background for a guy who was so heavily involved in negotiations with the US over the years, yes? The Obama administration stated that it will "respond" to any Emad tests the regime carries out with fresh sanctions. Given how much this administration thought out the ramifications of their "crowning foreign policy achievement," wouldn't hold our breath waiting for them to actually do anything of substance. Unfortunately, the entire region becomes much more unstable in the process - and that means more American lives are in danger because of it. Sleep tight.
