URGENT ACTION ALERT
Let Your Representative Know You Oppose H.R. 5471
 This is an urgent ACTION ALERT
regarding a bill that is slated to come before the full House of
Representatives TODAY.
We
need you right
now to burn up the phone lines in the House of
Representatives to register your view that enough is enough:
the federal legislature must stop all their politically correct
nonsense by passing meaningless legislation and by not
addressing today’s biggest national security threat by name: Radical Islam.
The bill scheduled to come up for a vote at any time today
is H.R. 5471, the Countering Terrorist Radicalization Act. Note that, taking a
page from President Obama’s policy playbook, it does not
define what type of terrorists it is addressing.
Also the bill is merely a re-packaging of three House bills that
have already been passed:
H.R. 4401, the ALERT Act of 2016 (passed on 2/29/16)
H.R. 4820, the Combating Terrorist Recruitment Act of 2016
(passed on 4/26/16)
H.R. 4407, the Counterterrorism Advisory Board Act of 2016
(passed on 5/16/16)
The bottom line: Language contained in the bill authorizes extra
training, the creation of a committee and establishes conditional
reporting requirements. It does not reform President
Obama’s misguided “Countering Violent Extremism” (CVE) strategy,
training rules or investigative priorities.
What’s
the point of re-passing already passed legislation that didn’t go
anywhere? As Representative Louie Gohmert
(R-TX-1) noted, this legislation is nothing but a “post-Orlando
showpiece” that solidifies the President’s existing harmful
policies.
We need our elected officials to enact meaningful policies that
will protect us and protect our democratic freedoms. We need them
to put down the politically correct baton they continue to wave
around to simply make themselves look better.
Unfortunately, H.R. 5471 was sponsored by someone who should know
better, Rep. Michael McCaul, the Chairman of the House Homeland
Security Committee -- and is supported by the Republican
Leadership in the House. Shame on them.
IMPORTANT
AND TIME-SENSITIVE ACTION ALERT!
1. Please
call your U.S. House Representative IMMEDIATELY to register your
opposition to this legislation. Tell the person who
answers the phone that you are a constituent and that you
are sick and tired of our legislative leadership not addressing
the threat of RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM directly and head
on.
Let them know that you will be watching to see how they vote on
H.R. 5471 today and that you will keep that in mind when you go
to the polls this November.

message.

of the essence as this bill is scheduled to be voted on at any
time!
