UANI Roundup
News and Updates from United Against Nuclear Iran

On September 25, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) hosted our annual Iran Summit at the Westin Grand Central in New York. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of our founding, UANI was fortunate to host high level government officials and Iran experts, including the Honorable Michael R. Pompeo, Secretary of State of the United States, and Ambassador John R. Bolton, National Security Adviser to President Donald J. Trump and a former UANI advisory board member.

Business Risk
During the three years of U.S. participation in the JCPOA (July 2015 to May 2018), Western and Iranian companies inked a new business agreement on average once a week. The vast majority of these deals were Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) - the "handshake on paper." Usually, an MOU leads to full contracts and real business. However, in a new resource, UANI research shows that the vast majority of these Iran MOUs have not led to subsequent formal business arrangements and some have been canceled altogether.
UANI President David Ibsen speaks to Voice of America on Renault in Iran, arguing "[f]or Renault to explicitly express their desire to comply with U.S. law, even though they do not have any existing American operations, suggests that even the prospect of future U.S. business is far more enticing than anything they currently have in Iran."

UANI Research Director Daniel Roth writes in Investor's Business Daily on how the promised gold rush after the nuclear deal never turned into reality.
