The court issued the heaviest sentence for Mr. Amini for his peaceful activism on Telegram.
He was allegedly charged for assembly and collusion against national security, propaganda against the regime of Iran and insulting the supereme leader at the court on October 3, 2018, according to Amad News Daily.
The imprisoned activist was previously sentenced to fine ($300 USD) for bogus charges of spreading false news and disturbing public opinion at the Special Judicial Complex for Government Employees' court, chaired by judge Heydari.
It's worth mentioning that he was formerly sentenced to death for alleged charges of blasphemy and insulting prophet Mohammad at Branch 9 of Tehran Criminal Court, which was reduced to three years with the attorney's efforts.
