ACT! FOR AMERICA ANNOUNCES THE ARRIVAL OF

CAPWIZ XC!

WE’RE MAKING IT EASIER FOR YOU TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR

MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AND BE A PART OF THE POLITICAL

PROCESS!

By Lisa Piraneo, Director of Government Relations

Earlier this year, we launched our “ACT! IMPACT 2010” online grassroots campaign which had three goals: a new online congressional contact service; our 2010 congressional scorecard; and our 2010 Voter Guide.

Today we are very excited to announce the unveiling of Capwiz XC, a new tool you can use to help interact with, and keep track of, your elected officials in the U.S. Congress as well as educate yourself about congressional candidates.

Capwiz XC is now available on our website,
http://tool.donation-net.net/Act4America/ACTFAwebsite.cfm?dn=1097&commID=35714826&ID=41695, under the “Contact Congress” tab, and contains updated legislative data and on-line tools that allow you to have an active role in the political process.

Lately, Americans at the grassroots level are demanding the attention of their elected officials—up on Capitol Hill and across the nation. Make no mistake about it, you are the power behind Act! for America’s success in getting our elected officials to protect and defend our nation against radical Islam. Capwiz XC will now make it easier than ever to let you keep track of your elected officials—and to let them hear from you—their constituent—about this very critical issue.

Take Action! Our Action Alerts will now be run through Capwiz! Send personalized messages to officials and policy makers and let them know what you think. The Capwiz XC tool makes it easy!

Try this quick exercise now to learn if your Member of Congress has cosponsored one of our High Priority Legislative Proposals and send a message to them about it TODAY! See the POWER of Capwiz!

  1. Log on to our website: http://tool.donation-net.net/Act4America/ACTFAwebsite.cfm?dn=1097&commID=35714826&ID=41695

  2. Click on the “Contact Congress” tab at the top of the page.

  3. Click on one of ACT! for America’s High Priority pieces of legislation, listed in the box on the page.

  4. Click on “Click here to learn more about this bill and take action,” or simply enter your zip code in the box, if you want to go straight to “take action.”

  5. Once you enter your zip code, you will see information on YOUR member of Congress. You will also learn whether or not your Member of Congress has cosponsored the legislation. If he/she has, a pre-written “thank you” letter will automatically appear; if he/she has not, a letter requesting co-sponsorship will appear.

  6. Enter in the appropriate “closing” to your letter and complete the “Sender Information” section of the screen and click “Send Message.” It’s that easy!

[NOTE: It is important that you complete the “Sender Information,” as many congressional offices will NOT accept an e-mail if does not come from someone in their district.]

This simple exercise merely scratches the surface of Capwiz’s capabilities. Some other ways you can use the system are as follows:

  • Research and Contact Elected Officials. Capwiz XC contains a comprehensive government directory that is updated regularly. Keep up with changes of legislators and their staff members here.

  • Use The Interactive Map to Find Your Elected Officials. Click on your state or enter your zip code to learn who your elected officials are and how they have voted on issues. Click here to learn more.

  • Bills and Votes. How are your U.S. elected officials voting on legislation that will protect our nation against the threat of radical Islam? Click here to learn more.

  • Election Guide Directory. It’s not just limited to keeping updated on those who are currently serving in the U.S. Congress. Keep track of who is running to serve as a Member of the 112th Congress as well. Click here to learn more.

  • Register to Vote. Once you’ve learned about the candidates, use the Capwiz XC tool to register to vote! This is a critical election! Click here to learn more.

  • Media Guide. Let your voice be heard through the media. Capwiz XC helps you locate any national, state, or local media to help get the word out about Act! for America. Click here to learn more.

The links listed above are merely to allow you to see the power of Capwiz for yourself. In the future, all the actions and information found in them should be accessed through the “Contact Congress” tab on our homepage, http://tool.donation-net.net/Act4America/ACTFAwebsite.cfm?dn=1097&commID=35714826&ID=41695.

The Bottom Line: Capwiz XC will enable us to deliver critical messages to lawmakers and ensure that our legislative agenda is received and heard up on Capitol Hill.

So check out our new Capwiz XC tool today!

REMEMBER, YOUR VOICE COUNTS!

IF EACH OF US DOES JUST A LITTLE, TOGETHER WE CAN

ACCOMPLISH A LOT!
