LP Column on the Spanish
persecution of Imran Firasat for his anti-Muhammad film
In
September of 2012, supposedly because of an obscure "anti-Islam"
film named "Innocence of Muslims," the Islamic world erupted with
violent protests towards Westerners for exercising their right to free
speech. Since then, Western government's have shown extreme sensitivity to
free speech in the West regarding Islam. Just this December, we saw another
person targeted by European nations for his critical speech about Islam.

September 6, the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) signed a contract
to buy space for this message from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit
Authority (WMATA), which had concluded that the First Amendment required it
to accept the controversial ad. Less than two weeks later, WMATA declared
that AFDI's advocacy was not constitutionally protected after all, pointing
to violent Middle Eastern protests blamed on Innocence of Muslims, an online

Anti-Muhammad movie intimidates Europeans
Internationally-known
Koran burner Terry Jones has
returned to the internet with a film condemning Islam's prophet Muhammad

Innocence of Muslims, a source of global controversy. Posted on

co-producer, the Pakistani exile Imran Fisarat now living in Spain, show once

Is Imran Firasat a shady
character or are Islamists/PC Types trying to blacken his name?
·
Zakalwe, Cheradenine. "Does
Imran Firasat Have a Shady Past?," Islam versus Europe Blog,
December 23, 2012.
I've made
various posts about Imran Firasat here. In the comments section below some of
them, (usually anonymous) posters have made various allegations about him
having an unsavoury past, including the specific claim that he committed a
murder in Indonesia. I've assumed that this was part of a campaign my Muslims
to discredit a critic of Islam, and still think that is the most likely
explanation.
