CAIR Director Calls for Death Penalty for Blasphemers Against Islam

CAIR Director Calls for Death Penalty for Blasphemers Against Islam

The most disturbing thing about this is that “Sharia law”  prosecutions can only take place in the Muslim world. So this looks a lot like an attempt at intimidating and perhaps even causing the death of Atheist and Christian critics of Islam in the Muslim world.
Last August, the director of CAIR St. Louis, Faizan Syed, wrote about his ideas for monitoring social media titled Social Media Task Force.  Syed wants to create a Muslim youth association who would aggressively monitor the media.  What really stood out was this statement under the section “I have few suggestions to make in this regard” (5th bullet):
“Report anti Islamic and anti Muslim content on the internet to appropriate authorities to take action to remove it and go after those who post it online and prosecute and take actions according to the Shariah ruling.”
Take action according to the Sharia ruling?  Humm… in some countries this could mean death.
CAIR’s thought police would be creepy enough on their own, but left-wing groups already do this sort of thing. But under Sharia law, blasphemy, heresy and any questioning of Islam, or even a cartoon of Mohammed, can result in the death penalty.

Even if CAIR’s Director only meant that the domestic pursuit of Islamic critics should take place according to Sharia law, that would be bad enough as the last thing the United States needs is an Islamic Inquisition, violent or otherwise. But Syed’s talk of an international effort, saying, “There need at least one such team in every country (I know it’s a daunting taks, but one small steps takes us to bigger one)”, shows that we are talking about an international effort that would no doubt extend to countries where violent means could be used in defense of Islamic theocracy.

Islamist organizations such as CAIR exploit American freedoms in a majority non-Muslim country while leveraging the oppressive theocracy of Islam in Muslim countries to threaten critics with death.
UPDATE: While Faizan Syed is opposed to “anti-Muslim content”, he has no problem hosting the anti-Christian and anti-Semitic bigot, Khalid Yasin.

Khalid Yasin is a vile hatemonger who makes the Westboro Baptist Church look like saints. Here are some quotes from Khalid Yasin and the sort of figure that CAIR feels is acceptable to present to their members as a positive role model, even while they complain about the bigotry of non-Muslims.

“We don’t need to go to the Christians, or the Jews, debating with them about the filth which they believe.” Khalid Yasin

“This whole delusion about the equality of women is a bunch of foolishness, there’s no such thing.” Khalid Yasin

“There’s no such thing as a Muslim having a non-Muslim friend, so a non-Muslim could be your associate but they can’t be a friend.”

“The Koran gives a clear position regarding homosexuality lesbianism and bestiality. … They are aberrations punishable by death.”

“Missionaries from the World Health Organisation and Christian groups went into Africa and inoculated people for diphtheria, malaria, yellow fever, and they put in the medicine the AIDS virus, which is a conspiracy.”

“There has been no evidence that has surfaced, no bona fide irrevocable, irrefutable evidence that had been surfaced that showed that there is a group called al-Qa’ida that did the September 11 bombings.”

The non-Muslims who have shown up defending Syed as the most tolerant man they have ever met need to ask themselves whether a tolerant man would truly promote the work of a bigot like Yasin?
