Iran Nuclear Agreement

Secretary John Kerry, Jack Lew, and Ernest Moniz joined Defense Secretary Ashton Carter and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Martin Dempsey in testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee on the Iran nuclear agreement and its possible impact on U.S. interests in the Middle East. The agreement, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), would set limits on Iran’s ability to enrich uranium, build centrifuges, and other actions that could lead to a nuclear bomb. The witnesses stressed that even with deal, all military options remained on the table.
