Putin slams US over Syria as he claims they aren't interested in DESTROYING evil ISIS

RUSSIAN president Vladimir Putin has blasted the US by claiming they are more concerned with overthrowing Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad than tackling the evil Islamic State.

The Russian leader has previously mocked the US over its war on ISIS
Putin's comments come less than two weeks after he mocked the West for not getting "results" – after Russia claimed it has hit 55 more ISIS targets in Syria.
Speaking in Sochi, the Moscow leader claimed that the Pentagon's "goal is to get rid of Assad".

He went on: "Our goal is to defeat terrorism, fight terror, help President Assad defeat terror, thus creating conditions for the start, and, I hope, successful conclusion of the political settlement process.
"I believe this is the only right way."
Last week US-led coalition forces announced they staged 24 attacks on the abhorrent terror group.
But Putin hit out at Western forces "who say they are fighting terrorism but do not demonstrate results".

Syrian rebels on the ground have claimed that Kremlin forces have targeted rebel groups not associated to ISIS, but Moscow denied the claims.

The Syrian dictator has not left his country since 2011

Despot al-Assad paid a secret visit to ally Putin this week to thank him for military action in Syria.
On his first overseas trip since civil war broke out in Syria in 2011, the dictator expressed "enormous" gratitude to the Kremlin, insisting that its intervention had prevented a "tragic scenario" in the war-torn country.

Tuesday's talks were not announced until after al-Assad had returned to Damascus.
Kremlin footage showed Mr Putin praising Syrians for almost single-handedly “fighting international terrorism” in their country.

The former Soviets and the US made a deal this week to ensure their forces do not clash during airstrikes.
