Every time the Ground Zero mosque’s Imam Faisel Abdul Rauf tries to convince us of his good intentions, more disturbing information about him comes to light that undercuts his credibility.
The latest was revealed yesterday by the New York Post and on the “O’Reilly Factor.” It seems that Imam Rauf has been hanging around with one of those Truthers who claims that the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job” by the U.S. government and corporate America, for which Muslims have been made the scapegoats.
This Truther’s name is Faiz Khan. It seems that Rauf and Khan were partners in the founding and governance of the American Society for the Advancement of Muslims. Moreover, Khan has preached at least a couple of times at the former Burlington Coat Factory where the proposed mega mosque and Islamic community center is planned to be built.
Perhaps hanging around with a 9/11 Truther helps explain Imam Rauf’s own statement shortly after 9/11 that American foreign policy was an “accessory” to the “crime” of 9/11.
When asked to comment on his newly revealed close association with a 9/11 Truther, Imam Rauf – who has been making the rounds on CNN, ABC, and before the Council on Foreign Relations – suddenly clammed up.
