Giving the gift of Freedom

by Guy Rodgers
Executive Director

I consider myself lavishly blessed. I have never had to live under the boot of tyranny.

But my mother did.

My mother grew up in World War II Germany. She didn’t talk much about what life was like under Hitler, but one story she told I have never forgotten.

A woman in her apartment building was a vocal critic of Hitler. One day she stood out on the street and made fun of his mustache.

That night, my mother awoke to the sounds of banging and screaming. The Gestapo had come to haul this woman away.

Miraculously, after the war ended, she dragged herself, half-dead, back into town. She had survived for years in a concentration camp. Most weren’t so fortunate.

It was stories like this that gave me a special appreciation for freedom.

We are on the cusp of what is commonly called “the holiday season” here in America. It’s a time for celebrations of family, faith, and thankfulness.

And it’s a time for giving.

This year, when you buy gifts online for your friends and loved ones, you can also give them the precious gift of freedom.

Simply log in to the iGive program, download the iGive “button,” and start shopping!
With every gift you buy, a portion of the purchase price will be donated back to ACT! for America by iGive – at no cost to you!

I use the iGive button. It took only a couple minutes to go through the installation process. It was easy to download and it’s been easy to use.

If you do shopping online, virtually anything you would want to buy is available through the 1,300 companies that participate in the iGive program.

What could be easier or more effective than doing what you already do, and giving the gift of freedom to those you care about – without having to spend one additional penny in the process?

So I urge you, please check out the iGive program.

Nearly $9,000 has been donated to ACT! for America since we launched the program in late October 2012.

These ACT! for America members using iGive are fighting for freedom every time they shop. Will you join them?

For freedom,

Guy Rodgers
