Canadian Ali Rizvi is a lot of things. He's a physician in Canada. He's a musician. He has a thought provoking and entertaining Twitter feed.And he's a blossoming writer, working on a book called The Atheist Muslim. In a column posted Monday by the Huffington Post, Rizvi blasted Islamists for a series of campaigns aimed at silencing critics of Islam. Their reflexive cry of "Islamophobia" is "the ultimate, lazy substitute for a non-existent counter-argument," he wrote. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has conducted searches in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec as part of an investigation into a Muslim charity organization. Canadian federal auditors accuse the International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy (IRFAN-Canada) of sending nearly $15 million to Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization. On Tuesday, the Canadian government officially added the organization to its list of banned terrorist organizations.

A Tunisian graduate student, Mr. Abassi, 27, lived briefly in Canada as
a visitor and student. He returned to Tunisia in 2012 but flew to the U.S. in
March 2013. While in New York, he was in regular contact with Chiheb
Esseghaier, another Tunisian who was allegedly planning an Al-Qaeda-linked
attack on a passenger train south of Toronto with Raed Jaser. All three men
were arrested on April 22, 2013. Mr. Esseghaier and Mr. Jaser have been charged
with terrorism offences and are awaiting trial in Ontario. Mr. Abassi was
charged only with fraud and misuse of a visa.
A Toronto security guard on
trial for allegedly attempting to join the Somali terrorist group Al-Shabab
testified Monday he wanted to move to a Muslim country because of the
discrimination he suffered in Canada, but insisted he did not support
terrorism. The case is the first attempt to prosecute a Canadian for allegedly
attempting to travel abroad to join a terrorist group. The National Post
revealed this week the RCMP has set up a program to track and disrupt “high
risk travelers” preparing to leave the country.

“multiculturalism” and “tolerance.”

out CAIR co-founders Nihad Awad and Omar Ahmad for having "intimate links
with Hamas," and “ties to terrorism." According to the FBI, CAIR
director, Muthanna al-Hanooti, "collected over $6 million for support of
Hamas," and was sentenced to one year in federal prison for violating U.S. sanctions against
Iraq.
Islamophobia: a contrived term that was

those who are engaged in dialogue about

It has been a little more than
two weeks since gunmen raided a school in northeastern Nigeria and kidnapped
more than 200 teenage girls from their dormitories. Authorities aren't
talking, as impatience mounts. Several hundred Nigerians – most of them
women dressed in red - marched in Abuja Wednesday to demand answers and
"concrete and visible" action from the federal government.
