Women Threatened for Speaking Out Against FGM
The fear of being subjected to female genital
mutilation (FGM) for a woman or her daughter - or the danger to her life
from speaking out against it in her community -- are reasons that
asylum is granted. Many times, mothers have been forced to flee alone,
and apply for asylum to save their daughters. Part 3 of "Too Much Pain
-- The Voices of Refugee Women" produced by the UN Refugee Agency.
