Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson reported that Turkey has a list containing the names of 7,833 people from 90 countries who are suspected of trying to join the Islamic State militants.

Almost 8,000 people from 90 countries are suspected of trying to join the Islamic State terrorist group, Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson told journalists Wednesday.

Turkey has a list containing the names of 7,833 people from 90 countries who are suspected of trying to join the so-called Islamic State, Tanju Bilgic said at a press conference.

Over a thousand foreigners, trying to illegally cross the border with Syria, have been deported from Turkey, according to Bilgic.

Ankara's willingness to fight terrorism should not be questioned by anyone, especially since the IS terrorist activity affects Turkey itself, the top diplomat stressed.

The Islamic State is a Takfiri group that has taken areas of Iraq and Syria under its control, where it established a caliphate governed by a strict version of Sharia law. The militant group has been operating in Syria since 2012 before launching attacks in Iraq in 2014.
