US to Train 7,000 Sunni Tribal Militants in Iraq
Iraqi Sunni delegates to visit Washington to ask for arming of Sunni tribal militants

The United State government has to train
Sunni tribal insurgents of Anbar Province in northern Iraq in order to
fight against Islamic State (IS) militants.
In a statement on Friday, Member of
Anbar Province Council Mazhar Mullah pointed out, “In the last two days
US military officers have started to train 7,000 Sunni tribal militants
of Anbar so that they will be ready to fighting against IS militants in
the province.”
He continued, “So far 7,000 Sunni tribal
rebels of Anbar has been training in military base of Ain al-Assad in
Baghdadi Town by the US military officers.”
“They will be trained for a month in
order to make them ready to fight against IS militants, who currently
controlling some parts of Anbar,” said Mullah.
Moreover, in the mid January of 2015,
its expected that Iraqi Sunni delegates from Anbar province to visit US
Capital, Washington to ask US for arming Sunni tribal militants of the
province in battling against IS insurgents.
Sunni tribal leaders have often asked US before to arm their rebels to free IS-controlled areas in Iraq.
Furthermore, Nineveh Governor Atheel
Nujeifi has previously pointed out that they are working on training
almost 20,000 people of Mosul city in northern Iraq to participate in
liberating the city and province from IS insurgents.
