The Prime Minister’s Faroese Wife
The Prime Minister’s Faroese Wife
A Poem by Captain Paul Watson
The Knut Rasmussen, the Danish warship,
Into Lerwick did quietly slip,
On a mission to steal a wee little boat.
Defending the slaughter of the whales,
Such heroic and noble tales,
The pride of Denmark it seems,
Taking the defense of whaling to extremes.
Faroese beaches run red with blood,
The Danish flag dragged through the mud,
The pride of Denmark falls from grace,
The Danish Navy wallows in disgrace.
What is the cause of all this strife?
Could it be the Prime Minister’s Faroese wife?
When all else is said and done.
Nothing gained, and nothing won.
Boats are lost and replaced,
And Danish pride has been debased,
If the goal is to end the defense of the whales,
The Danish Navy blunders and fails.
They put to sea to defend bloody slaughter,
Spreading hot blood upon the water,
The glory of the Danish fleet,
Deploying warships and marines,
No expenses spared to battle the greens.
All hail the Danish Naval forces,
The Navy will long remember the glorious day,
They sailed boldly into a Scottish Bay,
And seized the boat that defended life,
To appease the Prime Minister’s Faroese wife.
