White House Petition To Designate Antifa As Terrorist Organization At 90k+ Signatures – Only 10k More Needed
Petition To Designation Antifa As Terrorist Organization
A White House petition was started on Thursday for the federal government to officially designate Antifa as a terrorist organization. After just a few days, it’s already up over 90k signatures, with just under 10k more needed to get the White House to respond. The White House will be obligated to respond to the petition if it meets its goal by September 16, but the more signees, the better.
The petition states:
It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.
While Blue Lives Matter has declared Antifa to be made up of domestic terrorists, the description in the petition appears to have some factual errors.
Despite a history of violence, Antifa is not known to be directly associated with the murder of anybody in the United States, including the murder of police officers.
Antifa (short for Anti-Fascist) is an authoritarian group of left-wing extremists, closely associated with anarcho-communism. They have a history of labeling anybody they disagree with as a “Nazi” and they promote and actively commit acts of violence against those people.
Unlike Black Lives Matter, which is very centrally organized, Antifa is very decentralized and mostly attracts local people who are inspired to commit violence based on their political beliefs.
At the core of Antifa’s beliefs is the idea that they should preemptively attack white supremacists and white nationalists, and that being the first to attack is still an act of self-defense. They also promote physically attacking any group which they believe allows white supremacy to grow. This can result in attacks on right-aligned people with no connection to hate groups, or libertarians whose political beliefs are the polar opposite of Antifa’s
Prior to Charlottesville, most people who were attacked by Antifa had no association with white nationalism. Post-Charlottesville, there has been an increase in mislabeling of right-wing gatherings as white supremacist gatherings.
Antifa has thrown explosives, bricks, and glass bottles with nails in them at police. When Antifa has shown up to right-wing events there have been people beaten in the street.
Signing the petition to recognize Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization is not going to criminalize association with Antifa, but it can send the message that law-abiding citizens want nothing to do with this group’s extremist violence.
You can sign the petition HERE. Please be sure to share this article to help spread the word about this dangerous organization.
