For those of you who were unable to attend the ACT! For Canada
rally on Wednesday to discuss the return of Omar Khadr, this is an opportunity
to be an activist and voice your support for the Honourable Vic
Toews. He has balked at the return of the convicted war criminal and
murderer until U.S.
authorities turn over allegedly-damning sealed video footage of
psychiatrists’ interviews with the Guantanamo
Bay prisoner.
Toews
has insisted he won’t be “pushed” into making a decision, despite attempts by
Khadr’s legal team to force the matter in federal court, and in his letter
to U. S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, he
suggests Canada will not admit Khadr until it receives the documentation and
video interviews Canadian officials need to determine how to deal with the
convicted terrorist and murderer.
We urge everyone to send an email to the
Honourable Vic Toews (and cc the Prime Minister) encouraging him to be
steadfast in his battle with U. S. authorities, to support him in demanding the
release of sealed documents on the hidden interview of Omar Khadr and to thank
him for his dedication in keeping Canada’s citizens safe.
