HAMILTON, Ont. - The streets of Hamilton, Ontario were lined with people Tuesday as family, friends, fellow soldiers and dignitaries bid farewell to Canada's son.

The casket of Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, 24, who was gunned down in the nation's capital while guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier last week, moved through the streets amid a massive military and police parade to a funeral at Christ's Church Cathedral.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is in attendance for the service, which began at noon.

Dozens of Ottawa police officers who were working during the deadly shooting last week are also attending.
