Oklahoma: Hamas-linked CAIR denies that it is Hamas-linked

“Any claim that CAIR is associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, or any other terrorist organization is absolutely preposterous,” said Hamas-linked CAIR’s Adam Soltani. “CAIR was founded in 1994 in Washington D.C. as a national organization to be a civil rights advocate for American Muslims, to stand up for constitutional rights, for religious freedom, for pluralism, and for every right that we value as American citizens.”

Soltani didn’t mention that, as Discover the Networks reports, “CAIR was co-founded in 1994 by Nihad Awad, Omar Ahmad, and Rafeeq Jaber, all of whom had close ties to the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was established by senior Hamas operative Mousa Abu Marzook and functioned as Hamas’ public relations and recruitment arm in the United States. Awad and Ahmad previously had served, respectively, as IAP’s Public Relations Director and President. Thus it can be said that CAIR was an outgrowth of IAP. CAIR opened its first office in Washington, DC, with the help of a $5,000 donation from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a self-described charity founded by Mousa Abu Marzook.”

Nor does Soltani mention that “Nihad Awad asserted at a 1994 meeting at Barry University, ‘I am a supporter of the Hamas movement.'” He omits the fact that Omar Ahma was described by prosecutors in the Holy Land Foundation trial as “a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s ‘Palestine Committee’ in America.” DTN also says: “On June 4, 2007, the New York Sun reported that CAIR had been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in an alleged criminal conspiracy to support both Hamas and the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF). The federal prosecution document, in naming CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator, described the organization as a present or past member of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee.”

And: “In the summer 2007 Holy Land Foundation trial, it was learned that CAIR’s parent organization, the Islamic Association for Palestine, had been named in a May 1991 Muslim Brotherhood memorandum as one of the Brotherhood’s likeminded ‘organizations of our friends’ who shared the common goal of conducting ‘a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.'”

“CAIR will have a float in the Tulsa Veterans Day parade,” by Russell Mills, KRMG, November 2, 2015 (thanks to Anti-CAIR):
The Veterans Day parade in Tulsa is one of the largest in the country each year, but this year one float in particular is getting a lot of attention.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, applied for and was granted a spot in the 2015 parade.
That doesn’t sit well with some people, including Tulsan Larry Williamson.
“The organization is anti-American,” Williamson tells KRMG. “It’s part of the Muslim Brotherhood, at least it’s a member of the Muslim Brotherhood Palestine Committee. This is not according to me, it’s according to the FBI.”
He said he doesn’t object to individual Muslims marching in the parade, or even other organizations like the Peace Academy, an Islamic private school based in Tulsa.
“But this particular group, they are anti-American, they are enemies of America in a current war. Americans are fighting and dying to defend against the Jihad. These people are here raising money for Hamas,” Williamson said.
Adam Soltani, Executive Director of CAIR Oklahoma, says claims that CAIR supports terrorism are simply false.
“Any claim that CAIR is associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, or any other terrorist organization is absolutely preposterous,[“] he told KRMG. “CAIR was founded in 1994 in Washington D.C. as a national organization to be a civil rights advocate for American Muslims, to stand up for constitutional rights, for religious freedom, for pluralism, and for every right that we value as American citizens.”
He said the float is intended to “send a message out there, that as Muslims we are part and parcel of this society, we are part of the fabric of this beautiful country, and we appreciate our veterans. There are many Muslim veterans, including here in Oklahoma – some of which will be on that float, and a part of that parade – and we just want to show our appreciation for those who have served our country and fought to preserve our freedoms and the beauty of our nation.”…
