Columbine students strive 10 years after massacre
LITTLETON, Colo. – The "boy in the window" — who fell bloodied and paralyzed into the arms of rescuers during the horrifying Columbine High shooting rampage — is doing just fine.


Today marks 10th anniversary of Columbine shootings

They murdered 13 before killing themselves. A decade later, time has healed many of the wounds, though the pain may always remain. Survivors are hoping to make this anniversary a turning point.


Oklahoma City bombing 14 years of remembering
It was a beautiful spring morning, April 19, 1995. Downtown Oklahoma City was full of people beginning another work day in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and surrounding offices and buildings. No one could have imagined that at 9:02 am, the lives of Oklahomans and all Americans would be changed forever.

Iraqi Army Commandos Secure Owesat
BAGHDAD — The Iraqi Army (IA) took the lead in conducting Operation Al-Sakar, a combined Iraqi/U.S. counterinsurgency operation in the Owesat area southwest of here, April 12. The purpose of the operation was to clear weapons, find any hidden explosives and capture insurgents in the area.


Engineers in Iraq Defeat Tunnel Terrorists
BAGHDAD, April 20, 2009 – When terrorists who discovered tunnels underneath a heavily traveled road in western Baghdad used an improvised explosive device to blow a huge hole in the street to disrupt traffic, 225th Engineer Brigade engineers from Headquarters and Support Company, 46th Engineer Combat Battalion, were called in to repair the road and seal access to the underground tunnels.

Pakistani Military kills 20 Militants
Officials in Pakistan say the military has killed 20 militants during raids on camps controlled by a Taliban commander near the Afghan border. The military used helicopter gunships to destroy militant bases on Sunday near Ghiljo in the tribal district of Orakzai, an area controlled by top Taliban commander Hakimullah Mesud.
