Lars Hedegaard Escapes Jihadist Assassination Attempt
No sooner had I returned home to Scandinavia than the news came. My longtime friend Lars Hedegaard, a fearless critic of Islam, founder of Denmark’s Free Press Society, and defendant in the most disgraceful trial in postwar Danish history, had just escaped being killed by a thug who came to the door of his home in Copenhagen pretending to be a mailman.

Instead of
soberly facing the threat of Islam, the West has become desensitized to all the
murderous videos pouring out of the Muslim world. There is no outrage in
Western governments, media or NGOs over what we hear and see sluicing daily out
of the Middle East: the photos of hundreds of Christians burned alive by
Muslims in Nigeria; the videos of beheadings and burning-alive of apostates to
be found all over the internet; or the daily Islamic reminders — from many
political leaders, Arab television, and the pulpits of mosques, Arab television
and political leaders — that, in their opinion, Jews are the descendants of
apes and pigs.

Subject: Stripping Canadian Citizenship from
Terrorists
Recently, MP Devinder Shory, CPC MP for Calgary Northeast,
introduced Private Members Bill C-425, Strengthening the Value of Canadian
Citizenship, that would restore to the Citizenship Act powers to
effectively revoke citizenship from Canadian dual citizens who go abroad and
commit an act of war against Canada.
Bill C-425 would also allow permanent residents who have signed a
minimum three-year contract with the Canadian Forces to gain citizenship
one year earlier than normal.

The Government is considering expanding this bill to include automatically stripping Canadian citizenship from dual citizens convicted of committing terrorist acts. It is our belief that anyone who commits a terrorist act in Canada or abroad has clearly renounced their Canadian citizenship by rejecting Canadian values and the loyalty to our country that citizenship requires. Most Western democracies, including Australia and the United Kingdom, already have the authority to revoke citizenship from terrorists.
