During the fight, part of a train was set on fire. The train was allocated for migrant accommodation by the Greek government. Footage of the fight shows stones flying towards the train wagons and then the train setting on fire. The Greek police quickly responded and managed to suspend the epeat of incidents
Several foreign and Greek media reported that Idomeni, or the makeshift camp, is becoming a dangerous place in which a hierarchy is being established with a few people of suspicious past being on top. The Greek Police is present in the camp, but mostly as an observer.
Greek media citing sources from the police and the Citizen Protection Ministry, say that the Idomeni situation is still "explosive and that there is a fear of a repeat of the incidents from last week, which were enticed by foreign NGOs".
"In relation to Sunday events at Idomeni, directors at the Ministry of Citizen Protection and Greek Police noted that violence in the region was incited by some 'obscure' NGOs, which sympathize with the refugees and migrants, that still cannot be found", some Greek portals inform and add that migrants are again being called to a meeting at which how to cross the border will be discussed.
On Monday, a larger group stole a freight wagon and with it the group tried to pierce through blockades set up by Greek police. Their intention was to first pierce through the Greek blockade and then to pierce through the fence at the border line between Macedonia and Greece.
Unofficially, there are foreign and Balkan agents infiltrated among the migrants at the makeshift camp and they are trying to find out about the organized activities of the migrants. Greek attempts to decrease the number of migrants at Idomeni have not been successful.
Apart from a few buses that transported a number of migrants to Greece's interior, most of the migrants remained at Idomeni and it is estimated that over 10,000 are living there in terrible conditions.
