“Retain the power of speech no matter what other
power you may lose … Do what you will, but speak
out always.  Be shunned, be hated, be ridiculed, be
scared, be in doubt, but don’t be gagged.  The time
of trial is always.  Now is the appointed time.”
~ John Jay Chapman ~

Canadian Supreme Court Kills Last Hope for Free Speech

“Hate speech” doesn’t silence – the prosecution of “hate speech” does. Does anyone honestly think that say, Canadian imams who preach core Islamic tenets – such as the obligation to punish gays, apostates, and adulteresses with death – are henceforth in serious peril of prosecution? Or has the Court, instead, handed the “objective” instruments of Canadian justice a fresh new club with which to bludgeon the few brave souls in that nation who dare to tell the truth about the Religion of Peace?

Islamic Assassination: Silencing Freedom Fighters

Tunisia, one of the most secular Arab countries in modern times—and the first country to experience the “Arab Spring”—was also recently the first Arab country to experience an Islamic assassination since the Arab Spring began.  Tunisian opposition politician Chokri Belaid has been shot dead outside his home in the capital, Tunis.

Blaming the Victim
Since when is criticizing Islam a crime? Since when was defending the rights of writers, journalists and artists to say, write and draw what they like a crime? You really do have to rub your eyes. These are not Saudi papers or the Tehran Daily News running these smears — they are allegedly "liberal" papers in an allegedly "liberal" country in an allegedly "liberal" democracy.

Lars Hedegaard, founder of Denmark’s Free Press Society, speaks from a secret location after an attempt on his life

And what happens now? ‘Well, the paper survives, we are more determined than ever that they should not take us down, come what may. What happens to me, I don’t know. I am fully prepared to stay alive to the best of my ability and I am more eager than ever to write my opinion and try to bring it across. Somebody must not like what I’m saying, so that’s all the more reason to continue saying it.’

Islamists Mobilize Support in West to Criminalize Criticism of Islam

"For the Islamists, total power is the ultimate goal. They will feign respect for “democracy” (e.g., elections), but ultimately their path is one that seeks to change the rules of the game to an Islamocentric system rather than one centered in reason, under God, with unalienable rights for all." (Zuhdi Jasser: A Battle for the Soul of Islam)

Europe: A Continent in Flight

“I challenge any MP (preferably Labour or Lib Dem) to go live in Peckham for a week, without your drivers or bodyguards, and then come back and tell me that multiculturalism is a good thing.”
The War of Ideologies in the Arab World
Terrorism cannot be defeated only by killing extremist leaders and holding premature elections. Radical Islamist ideology must be analyzed and challenged. Otherwise the fight against terrorism – especially after the impending destruction of Sunni Syria – will have no end.

Jihad or Criminality?

A recent spate of killings in the United States of non-Muslims by Muslims has gone unnoticed by the major media. Here are four cases Daniel Pipes knows of:
Al Jazeera Star: Death to Apostates

Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi (the 86 year old Egyptian-born cleric who has been called the spiritual and intellectual leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood), host of a popular Al Jazeera television show and a highly influential Islamic cleric with a long history of poisonous views toward women, homosexuals and Jews, has now sanctioned the killing of those who leave Islam.

UN Human Rights Conference – Geneva – February 19, 2013
The contrast between the opening session of the UN Human Rights Council and the Geneva Summit could hardly be greater. The UN ambassadors arrive in chauffeur-driven Mercedes, and then congratulate themselves while ignoring human-rights abuses throughout the world. The Geneva Summit, by comparison, is put together on a very modest budget by 20 NGOs, headed by UN Watch, an organization that does such good work for human-rights issues that the UNHRC should hang its head in shame.
I had the pleasure of attending this conference. Courage. Valor. Intrepid. Resolute. Heroism.  There are no words powerful enough to describe these extraordinary speakers.
