UANI "Soured The Mood" at Inaugural Iran Investment Summit in Singapore

Financial Times Asia Runs UANI Full-Page Notice Warning Attendees of the Serious Financial, Legal, and Reputational Risks of Business in Iran

New York, NY - United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI)'s international campaign to warn companies about the risks of doing business with the Iranian regime "soured the mood" at the inaugural Iran Investment Summit held in Singapore on October 26, according to television anchors reporting on the event.

Ahead of the summit, UANI warned attendees about the projects being showcased at the event that were tied to sanctioned entities. On the day of the summit, UANI ran a full-page advertisement in the Financial Times Asia, outlining the business risks that corporations, financial institutions, investors, and shareholders would face in entering the Iranian market, specifically the risk of engaging commercially with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a sanctioned terrorist organization.

International business channel CNBC World reported that UANI's warning to companies had "soured the mood" at the gathering of major business leaders, in addition to featuring two other reports on UANI's impact on the summit. Agence France-Press (AFP) featured UANI's campaign and quoted UANI CEO  Ambassador Mark D. Wallace: "Any international company doing business in Iran could find itself inadvertently supporting terrorism -- from Hamas and Islamic Jihad to Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen." AFP's Arabic service also covered UANI's role at the summit.

Tehran was also watching. Mehr News Agency and Iran, the official daily newspaper of the Iranian government, reported extensively on UANI's activities in Singapore. Leading Iranian reporters also tweeted about the organization's educational efforts at the conference.
