It would
require cooperation from Russia.
On Palm
Sunday, two Coptic Churches were bombed in Egypt. The Islamic State claimed
responsibility for the attacks, which killed at least 49 of Egypt's
largest Christian minority. With Pope Francis' upcoming visit to the
country ... it is likely that the suicide bombings were intended as
prelude to a wave of terrorist attacks targeting Egypt's Christians.
Sessions
pointed to the sharp drop in illegal border crossings since Trump became
president: "This is what happens when you have a president who
understands the threat, who is not afraid to publicly identify the threat
and to stand up to it ..."
The U.S.
strike on a Syrian air base not only demonstrates that Trump will take
decisive action against a Russian client state, but that his predecessor,
President Obama, is the real Russian dupe, for making an admittedly
flawed agreement with Russia that allowed Syria to keep (and use) some of
its chemical weapons.
This week
Jews will gather with friends and family to celebrate Passover. We will
recount the hardships of slavery in Egypt and the harsh oppression by the
Pharaoh. We will rejoice in the rescue by Moses who demanded freedom for
our people.
The
shocking thing about the Stockholm truck atrocity is that no one was
especially shocked. Terrorist attacks in Europe seem to be becoming
almost routine.
The
conflict in Syria has long ceased being a civil war, becoming instead a
clash between coalitions and blocs that divide the entire Middle East.
As another
Passover begins, the echoes of "Once we were slaves and now we are
free" and "Next year in Jerusalem" resound briefly and
then fade into the background noise of everyday life.

While
the media may quote experts on both sides, they do far more to portray
Islam as peaceful, suggesting opponents focusing on facts and citing
chapter and verse are somehow Islamophobic for doing so.

On
April 5, the same day as the Syrian chemical attack against civilians in
the Khan Sheikhoun district of Idlib, the Syrian delegate to the United
Nations Disarmament Commission accused Israel of "intolerable and
immoral" practices of introducing "nuclear terrorism, chemical,
biological and radioactive terrorism" into the region.
