The Canadian government has passed Motion 103, the same day as an Angus Reid Institute survey was published asking Canadians how they’d vote if they were MPs. A plurality of 42% said they’d vote against it. While only 29% would give it the go ahead.
The Motion also calls for a Heritage Committee study to look at the issues mentioned in the Motion and then report back with recommendations that could be used to create legislation within 240 days.
This motion, inspired by the E 411 Petition, which garnered 70,000 signatures, stated that Islamist terrorists “do not reflect in any way the values or the teachings of the religion of Islam” and that “they misrepresent the religion.”

And also cries out for a definition of Islamophobia. How will these many Muslim/Islam experts define this word?
Who will come to testify on behalf of Islam? Sunni? Shia? Ahmadiyya? Salafists? Sufis?
And what will they say about their teachings? Their beliefs? Their values? This is a very long post. VERY LONG. Sheharyar Shaikh serves as the Imam of the Islamic Society of Kingston, Ontario and he also served as the President of North American Muslim Foundation and the Imam of Masjid Qurtabah in Scarborough, Ont. Supporter of the establishment of a Caliphate, or The Islamic State, Sheharyar Shaikh believes that the Islamic Law (Sharia Law) is essential to maintain a healthy and moral society which can be achieved by using the Islamic punishments (execution, crucifixion, flogging etc.) as effective deterrents against potential criminals. In this regard he emphasized that punishment for apostates, Muslims who left Islam, is execution.
Sheikh Ahmed Abdul Kader Kandil (أحمد عبد القادر قنديل) who is a member of Conseil des imams du Québec (Imams Council of Quebec).Kandil’s sermon entitled “The Types of Apostasy” and given on May 12, 2013 at Alrawdah Mosque in Montreal (originally in Arabic):
“…there are people called the Westernised Muslims. Did you hear about them? Who are the Westernised Muslims?… There are people called orientalists. The orientalists are European, American and other scholars who came to our countries, learned the Arabic language and the culture of the Arab and the Muslim society and started trying to find doubts in the [truthiness of] the religion of Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, in order to use them to destroy Islam. Unfortunately, some of them are our kin… our respected secular brothers… they traveled to their [orientalists] countries and learned from them or mingled with them in our countries and started repeating these words of folly uttered and made by the orientalists, for example that Islam oppresses the woman…Perhaps the experts on Islam will explain these statements:
“They started spreading these suspicions and sedition saying that Islam treats harshly women and that Islam is a rigid religion. [They say:] ‘why the hand of the thief is chopped off? And why the person who commits fornication is stoned to death… and why a person who drinks wine is flogged 80 times? This is a rigid religion. This is cruelty. Is this Islam? Is this the Sharia [Islamic law]? Is this tolerance?’
By doing so and by these words they addressing Allah directly and accusing Him , Glorified be He, of injustice. They say: ‘Our Lord, you are unjust…’ The Westernized Muslims repeated these statements and this is one of the facets of apostasy, because they accused Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, of injustice…”

Rageah, who suggested that signs of the Last Day are already seen in our time, said there would be a war [between Muslims and Christians…They will win over the enemy [Christians]… and then the Muslims will go again to Constantinople, which is known as Istanbul today… Muslims will conquer that land without a fight. First time we did was with a fight. We fought them we won over them, but this time without a fight. Rome same thing. We’ll go to Rome. We will not fight. The Muslim believers will pray Allah Akbar [Allah is the greatest] and then they will be victorious. Allah will them the victory over the enemy [Christians]. (Published YouTube on January 12, 2013)
A similar message was echoed by Edmonton Imam Shaban Sherif Mady (شعبان شريف ماضي) who explained in a Friday sermon in February 2016 that according to Mohammad’s prophecy, after taking over Turkey and Palestine, Muslims will conquer Europe and defeat Christianity, Islam’s prime enemy. The following are excerpts from Shaban Sherif Mady’s sermon (translated by Memri):
“The Prophet Muhammad told us that Constantinople would be conquered. This was the capital city of the Byzantine Empire. I am talking about prophecies from the sunna. Where is Constantinople, the capital city of the Byzantine Empire? Today, it is in Turkey. Turkey, Montenegro, Kosovo, all the way to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia… All these countries were ruled by the rightly guided Caliphate, the last Caliphate of the Muslims. [It ruled] about half of Europe, in the East, and then the other half, in the West, the countries of Al-Andalus: Spain, Portugal, and part of France, all the way to the Ural Mountains. All this was an Islamic Caliphate. Constantinople will be conquered. It is the Prophet Muhammad who said so. And what was Constantinople? Just like the Vatican today, it was the capital of all the Christians in the world. It was conquered and became Turkey. The Hagia Sophia became a great mosque, where Allah is worshipped. The prophecies of the Prophet Muhammad came true. But some prophecies have not come true yet. Look forward to it, because the Prophet Muhammad said that Rome would be conquered! It will be conquered. Constantinople was conquered. Rome is the Vatican, the very heart of the Christian state.During al-Quds Day rally in 2013 in Toronto, Elias Hazineh, former President of the Palestine House in Canada, called for the killing of the Israeli Jews if they do not leave Palestine immediately.
An imam at Al Andalous Islamic Center in Montreal was found praying in 2014 to Allah to “destroy the accursed Jews” and to “make their children orphans and their women widows”.http://en.cijnews.com/?p=214409
Ayman Elkasrawy, Imam at Masjid Toronto mosque recited the following supplications during Ramadan:
“O Allah! We ask you… [to give us] victory over the enemies. O Allah! Raise thestanding of Islam and the Muslims. O Allah! Give victory (help) to your oppressed slaves all over the world, east to west. O Allah! Give victory (help) to your slaves who believe in the oneness of Allah, O the Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Destroy the criminals. O Allah! Destroy anyone who inflicts injustice on your slaves, O the Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Count their number; slay them one by one and spare not one of them. O Allah!Do not defer [it] from them. O Allah! Seize them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent [referring to a Quranic verse that deals with the punishment Allah inflicted on Pharaoh and his people].”Shaykh Abdool Hamid, Imam at Masjid Toronto mosque, recites the following supplication:
“O Allah! Raise the standing of Islam and the Muslims and humiliate the polytheism, the polytheists, the infidels and the atheists, and Give victory (help) to your slaves who believe in the oneness of Allah. O Allah! Give victory to our oppressed and deprived Muslim brothers and the mujahideen (those who engage in jihad) everywhere. O Allah! Pour on them patience and steadfast their feet. And give them victory over the disbelieving people and give them victory over the evildoers and give them victory over the criminals.”Mostafa Hanout, Imam at Masjid Toronto mosque, recited in Ramadan 2016 the following supplication:
“O Allah give victory to the oppressed Muslims everywhere. O Allah give victory to the oppressed Muslims everywhere. O Allah help them in Palestine, help them in Syria, help them in Burma. Help them in any place in which they are treated unjustly, O Lord of the Worlds… O Allah don’t give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them].”Sheikh Shaban Sherif Mady (شعبان شريف ماضي), was a scholar at al-Azhar theological school in Egypt and served at the Ministry of Endowment and Ministry of Education of the Egyptian government. Today, he is the Imam of a Muslim congregation in Edmonton, Alberta which holds its Friday prayers at Glengarry Hall in Edmonton. In a Friday sermon (February 2016), he mentioned Mohammad’s prophecy about the future Islamic conquestof Europe and defeating Christianity, Islam’s prime enemy, after taking over Turkey and Palestine.
The following is an excerpt of his sermon as translated by Memri:

But people of faith have will, power, and understanding, and they know that the Prophet’s hadith is true, for he does not speak on a whim.”On December 23, 2016 Sheikh Muhammad bin Musa Al Nasr (محمد بن موسى آل نصر) led the Friday prayer at Dar Al-Arqam mosque (Mosquée Dar Al-Arqam) in Montreal. In his sermon, Sheikh Muhammad bin Musa Al Nasr, a Jordanian cleric, called the Jews the “most evil of mankind” and “human demons” emphasizing that their fate was predetermined by Allah to be killed by the hands of the Muslims. The following are excerpts from his sermon (originally in Arabic):
“What is the disease of the Jews? The Jews’ disease was that they believed in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part. Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, said on their sin: Do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? And the reward for those of you who do it will be nothing else but failure in life in this world. Allah sentenced them to failure in life in this world. Allah is not ignorant of what you are doing. What was said about the Jews is said on about those who behave like the Jews… At the end of time when the Muslims will triumph over the most evil of mankind [and] the human demons, the stone and the tree will say: O Muslim, O servant of Allah, O Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.”
Similar messages were echoed by other Canadian imams.
Sheikh Abdulqani Mursal, imam at Masjid Al Hikma mosque in Toronto (36 Colville Rd, North York – Lawrence and Keele), explains that the fate of the Jews is destined to be killed by the Muslims. In a lecture at the at Masjid Al Hikma mosque, Mursal read the chapter “Turmoil And Portents Of The Last Hour” from Sahih Muslim (hadith collection, meaning narrations attributed to Mohammad), including the following narrations.
Ibn ‘Umar reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You will fight against the Jews and you will kill them until even a stone would say: Come here, Muslim, there is a Jew (hiding himself behind me); kill him. Ubaidullah has reported this hadith with this chain of transmitters (and the Words are): “There is a Jew behind me.” Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You and the Jews would fight against one another until a stone would say:Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; come and kill him. Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The Jews will fight against you and you will gain victory over them until the stone would say: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; kill him. Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.At the end of his sermons at Al Andalous Islamic Center in Montreal, Quebec Imam Sayed AlGhitawi (سيد الغتاوي) recited supplications to Allah to support the mujahideen (Muslims who engage in jihad) in Palestine and to inflict total destruction on the Jews. The following are excerpts from Sayed AlGhitawi’s supplications in 2014 (originally in Arabic):
O Allah, give victory to our brothers who engage in Jihad for Your sake in everywhere, O Lord of the Worlds. O Allah, give victory to our brothers who engage in Jihad in Palestine. O Allah, connect to their hearts. O Allah, make their feet firm. O Allah, make their feet firm. O Allah, give them victory over their enemy. O Allah, destroy the accursed Jews. O Allah, show us the black day you inflict on them. O Allah, show us the wonders of your power and ability inflicted on them, O the most Merciful. O Allah, show us how you do to them what you did to [the peoples] of ʿĀd and Thamud [ancient peoples that perished by Allah because they didn’t heed the warnings of the prophets]. O Allah, show us how you do them what you did to [the people] of ʿĀd and Thamud. O Allah, rain down on them rain of stones made of Sigil stones, O Lord of the Worlds. O Allah, rain down on them rain of stones made of Sigil stones, O the most Merciful. O Allah, make their children orphans and their women widows.Dr. Iqbal Massod Al-Nadvi is the Amir (President) of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Canada and is also serving as Chairperson of Canadian Council of Imams (Canada’s top Imam). He also served as Director of Al-Falah Islamic School in Oakville, Ontario from 2004 to 2011, prior to which he served as Imam of Muslim Association of Calgary Islamic Center from 1998-2004 and as a member of the University of Calgary chaplaincy team. The book “Riyad us Saliheen” (“The Gardens of the Righteous”) which appears on his ICNA Canada site adds modern commentary to the verses from the Qur’an and hadith. The following are excerpts from the book which deal with the question whether Islam is compatible with the values of Western democracy.
“[Hadith]: 673. Abu Bakrah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, “He who insults the rulers Allah will insult him.”
[At-Tirmidhi].
“Commentary: To affront and degrade the ruler means to disobey him and to by-pass his orders. This impairs his power, honour and dignity.
“Believers have been told to obey and support rulers for the sake of national interest and welfare, understanding that they desist from committing an overt disbelief and maintain congregation Salat and other duties of religion.
“The political system of Islam is totally incompatible with western democracy.”
“The concept of government party and the opposition is alien to Islam.”
“All belong to one Ummah with only one goal and pursue the same aims and objects of Islamic guidelines!”
Again I ask how will the standing
committee respond to the statement that “Islamist terrorists ‘do not
reflect in any way the values or the teachings of the religion of Islam”
and that ‘they misrepresent the religion’?”
