Sign Petition E-1310 Against Trudeau’s Removal Of FGM Condemnation From New Citizenship Guide

Sign Petition E-1310 Against Trudeau’s Removal Of FGM Condemnation From New Citizenship Guide

Canadians are pushing back against Trudeau’s refusal to stand up for our values.

A petition sponsored by Conservative Immigration Critic Michelle Rempel is calling on the government to keep the condemnation of Female Genital Mutilation in the new Citizenship Guide being introduced by the Liberals.

The petition is necessary, because the Trudeau government has been planning to remove the condemnation, in another disturbing example of the government putting political correctness ahead of Canadian values.

In the past, Trudeau attacked those who condemned FGM, and opposed people calling it a “barbaric cultural practice.”
The text of the petition is below:

PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA

Whereas:
  • The citizenship guide is a tool utilized by newcomers to Canada as a resource to learn about our country and prepare for the citizenship test
  • Canada is a welcoming and tolerant society that promotes gender equality at home and on the world stage
  • Performing or assisting in female genital mutilation (FGM) is a crime in Canada
  • Recent reports indicate that FGM practices are affecting Canadians, both at home and abroad
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to ensure that the final draft of the new citizenship guide includes the condemnation of female genital mutilation.
This is an important petition, and it already has over 8,000 signatures.
We need to send a message as Canadians that we won’t put up with barbaric practices in our country.
The link to sign the petition is below. Sign and help spread the word as far as possible.
